Two London drug dealers ply their lucrative trade at a public housing estate in East London.
Young Ra’Nell was a man of principle who repeatedly brushed off Dushane’s attempts to recruit him in Series 1 of Director Ronan Bennett’s enticing finale saw a triumphant Dushane (Walters) leaving Jamie (Micheal Ward) in prison on the horns of a dilemma. Meanwhile, Lisa's friend Heather enlists Ra'Nell's help to grow a cannabis crop so she can earn enough money to move out of the estate and raise her unborn child somewhere safer. When Sully is released, he reconnects with Jason and Gem to begin selling in Ramsgate.
A young dealer, Michael, begins to fear for his life when the police force him to give information that could imprison Dushane. Meanwhile, Sully is attempting to start up his own crew to rival Dushane's with his friend Mike, a borderline-psychopathic ex-convict. In a Met Police office, a whiteboard displays the reality that Dushane is once again Top Boy on the Summerhouse estate, a detail Lee and Sarah confirm to their commanding officer.

Summerhouse’s newly restored Top Boy had video footage of young, misguided Ats entering Jamie’s flat with a bag containing drugs and a gun, which was used to set up Jamie. Smart alecs will point to hints such as the pair’s exposure of a suspicious market vendour in episode three, but come on, no one really saw this one coming.

Meanwhile, Sully comes into contact with Jason, a neglected boy who is trying to survive in a world filled with drugs and murder.
After the police uncover a body, Dushane, Sully, and Dris are arrested. The urgency of the chase puts Dushane and Sully's partnership in jeopardy.
It was confirmed on 31 December 2019 that season 4 has been renewed and will air later in 2020.

Sully’s intention to kill the “There’s always a way… but not that way” is Sully’s disgusted response to Dushane’s crafty framing of Jamie at the series end. Dushane quickly realises that there is a snitch in their crew, and must deal with the repercussions. However, Sully’s poignant observation that “just because we didn’t lose, doesn’t mean we won” hints that this latest drama may be a step too far for the Summerhouse boys’ relationship.
However, this is a relationship which has previously recovered from serious strains – if Sully can forgive his partner-in-crime for the orchestrated murder of his best mate Mike in Series 2, who knows what will happen in the future.Surely the finale’s biggest twist of all came in its closing scene, which reveals that desperate junkies Lee and Sarah are in fact undercover feds working to bring down Dushane. Ra'Nell, who has gained a reputation around the estate for his volatile behaviour after stabbing his abusive father, is quiet and closed-off.
Parents need to know that Top Boy: Summerhouse is a crime drama about two drug dealers operating in the East London public housing projects. In the courtyards of the Summerhouse Estate, a thriving but underground drugs business is being run by Dushane and his friend Sully.
