It will be much more difficult to learn active defenses when on a build that ignores them in favour of healing through the damage. Not to say you can't play how you want, but it's not a good way to learn your class.it's better to run full glass and mess up a lot so you can figure out how to actually avoid damage on your class. This is how I learned the basics. Also of note I tried MMO tanking way back in 2006 and I never stopped.
If they don't want to play with a tank/healer, that's their choice and they get to play the game how they like, just like I do.Also, what I like about guardian is you're a healer and a tank rolled into one. GW2 WvW Support Guardian Mace/Shield and Staff (The Droid Build) [VoD] I run a specialized support Guardian build for WvW that suits my personal playstyle and features the use of large, persistent healing symbols with Mace/Shield and Staff. Since upgrade components provide endless possibilities, while not following any consistent patterns, they are not included. It was a complete joke.
The first specialisation is Guild Wars 2: Meet the Druid + BUILD [BWE3] WvW PvP Roaming | Ranger Gw2 HoT Heart of Thornes Feb 28, 2013 path of fire gw2 guild wars 2 2020 wvw pvp roaming build guide guardian firebrand dragonhunter core outnumbered 4 Apr 6 Apr 2018 That means if your favorite class is a Thief, you have builds for Conquest (arena PvP), Fractals, WvW and Raids. Not only is it a bad way to learn to play (I had a terrible time on my thief until I went with Knights gear and a tanky build), it's far too expensive, and may not cater to the playstyle of every player.
Some caveats to this: I only ever play with my brother on my guardian, so he's never solo. There's a lot of fields that make bolts cleanse, but I can't purposely cleanse a lot.Either way, it's more than just me taking hits, I make the whole group avoid CC and hits, while healing.
My point is that telling people that they should ONLY do that isn't Anets fault, it's the communities, and that really that meta is for a select few areas in the entire game. The following table summarizes the attribute bonuses available on equipment of level 80 of all types and rarities.. I don't care what people are running if I'm running with guild members, but with PUGs, the expectation going into a PUG is that everyone is going to pull their weight into clearing as smoothly and efficiently as possible, and a healer only goes into that if the group has real trouble surviving, which they shouldn't. Even though I very much made it clear that I understand why it's not a mainstream build...Based on your post and comments you have a fundamental missunderstanding of the game. For ease of calculation, a Healing Power attribute of 100, equating to a heal of 70 per applied boon, is assumed. But we were both basically invincible, killing stuff decently fast, and really didn't have any issues with extra pulls or anything. So yeah, please stop telling everybody to go glass cannon berserkers. Heal Scourge is different from the other support builds. We still highly recommend running the Radiance/Honor build variant from our Build section so you start playing with the proper build!Only use these skills close to your allies - try to "puke" on them with the mantrasSkill 4 is a ticking AoE, good for single target and great for AoE DPSSkill 5 increases healing on allies for 8s by 33% and converts up to 5 conditions to boons Overview. This is the seventh of a series of GW2 class guides written by members of [rT], a European dungeon speed clearing guild. I can also model block with mace 3 and good positioning.I was with you, until the last paragraph, which makes you sound like a hypocrite as you do the exact same thing you claim your detractors are doing.
Combine that with all the aegis, stability, and might, and it's a pretty appealing support package.
That attitude discourages experimentation.Yes yes, dolyak runes are terrible. Taking a tank build randomly to a PUG dungeon/fractal without asking if it's ok is just as arrogant as "elitists" expecting you to run full damage.
Do try Firebrand later on, it also gets epic-looking and cooler all around. The amount of hate I'm getting for saying I found an alternative build fun is kind of weird. This guide is good for people who want to start fractals with heal firebrand. It's a L2P issue, and yeah, HoT has a nasty learning curve.
The complete rigidness of this opinion is due to many complex things, but it really annoys me when people tell me I'm playing wrong for going tanky in open world content. To play devil's advocate, it's better to run full glass and mess up a lot so you can figure out how to actually avoid damage on your class. You still get most of your damage, so you're still able to kill things decently efficiently.Just remember that if you two are having fun you're doing things right for yourselves.
In an ideal group, glass cannon max damage is the best build period. It has low boon output, aside from some Might and some Regeneration, and has relatively low direct healing. Therefore this build will almost always be played as a second healer. It is all about maximizing boon duration and healing power. Yes, supporting as a guardian is fun.
